Overview & Reviews
A trio of new colors -- Sandstone Metallic, Silver Birch and Sport Red Metallic -- are the lone changes for this year.
- Powerful engine lineup, multiple drivetrain configurations, capable brakes, substantial towing and hauling capacities.
- Spotty build quality, mediocre interior materials.

My review - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By matt - October 19 - 4:26 pmThe HD model rides quite well and has good power. The interior is comfortable and looks good, but does need more useable storage space and more cup holders. The truck has been trouble free for two years now

Reliable ride - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By Sam - February 4 - 8:30 pm156,000 miles of towing, hauling, and mountain driving as a contractor and hunter the only problems Ive had are the wheel bearings and prndl switch needed to be replaced. As comfortable as long distance driving in an HD pickup is really gonna get. Interior layout is well thought out but materials are slightly cheap. Leveled out with 33" mud tires I still get about 16 mpg in town and 20 mpg on the highway. With a heavy job trailer it doesnt pull quite as strongly as I would like but I dont think anything ever will. Off road capability is as good as it needs to be.

HD2500 Very nice truck - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By saleman454 - February 24 - 10:00 amTruck is very nice. Rides great for a 2500hd. Much more rear seat/door room than Dodge. Fit / finish is very good. will tow a house. Fuel economy good be better but it is a HD truck. better economy than Dodge Hemi that my friend has. Only complaint is door lock trim piece is loose. very minor. Fuel tank is too small. Great headlights, and keyless entry feature is great. all light come on when key is pressed. Williams Chevrolet in Elkton Md are very good to work with. Great service/sales group.

My best truck ever - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By mam643 - December 12 - 1:46 amIve had this truck since new in 04. A truly fantastic truck to drive and tow with. The Durmax engine with the Allison tranny is a superb setup. The best GM has ever put out. I think the ride is a bit rough when empty though. I may try upgrading to new shocks and tires here soon.

My Truck Sucks - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By Ralph Jones - July 25 - 10:00 amThe locking Rear end on these trucks are not what they could be. Mine, Hops an skips An has locked slam up on me at less than 12,000 miles with an easy break-in period. Agreat Truck, with second rate Quality. I think Ill give Ford a try on my next new truck.

Awesome Truck - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By SportyChica - March 30 - 2:00 amThis is my dads first truck since his ford in the 80s. Let me just say this is an awesome truck. I driven a few times and it is great. The power is awesome. We have great interior features and if it werent for the great deal he got he never would have bought it. My dad was a ford man before this but i convinced him to take a look because the dealership was having good deals. The features are really nice and the seat is comfortable. Chevy definately has a great truck
